Best Time to Visit Magaluf: Month by Month Weather and Events Guide

Stunning Mediterranean sunset over Magaluf coastline with warm golden light

Choosing the right time to visit Magaluf can make a real difference to your holiday experience. The weather, the events calendar, crowd levels and prices all shift throughout the season. This guide breaks it down month by month so you can pick the time that suits you best.

The Magaluf Season at a Glance

Magaluf operates on a seasonal cycle. The resort comes to life in May when hotels, clubs and beach bars start opening for summer. Things build steadily through June, hit peak intensity in July and August, then wind down through September before most venues close for winter by the end of October.

The weather is reliably warm from May through to October, with average daily temperatures ranging from 22 degrees in May to 31 degrees in August. Rain is rare during summer, with July and August averaging just one or two rainy days per month.

May: Early Season, Great Value

May marks the start of the Magaluf season. The weather is already warm (averaging 22 to 25 degrees), the sea is starting to warm up, and the resort is noticeably quieter than the peak months. Flights and accommodation are at their cheapest, making this an excellent time for budget-conscious travellers.

Not all events and clubs will be running at full capacity yet. Some of the bigger club nights and pool parties launch in late May or early June. However, the beach bars, restaurants and daytime activities are all open, and you will still find plenty to do.

Top Tip: May half-term (late May) is popular with UK visitors, so prices and crowds pick up during that week. Book early if you are travelling during half-term.

June: The Sweet Spot

June is widely considered one of the best months to visit Magaluf. The weather is hot (26 to 29 degrees) but not oppressively so, all the clubs and events are fully operational, and the crowds have not yet reached their July and August peak.

This is when the full events calendar kicks in. Oceans Beach Club pool parties, boat parties, and all the major club nights at BCM and MCP are running. Prices are still reasonable compared to peak season, and you will find it easier to get into popular restaurants without booking.

July and August: Peak Season

These are the busiest and hottest months. Temperatures regularly hit 30 to 33 degrees, the beach is packed, and every club and event is running at full capacity. This is when Magaluf is at its most energetic, with the biggest DJ lineups, the most events per week, and the liveliest atmosphere on the strip.

The downside is that prices are at their highest for flights, hotels and activities. Popular events like boat parties and pool parties can sell out weeks in advance. If you are visiting during peak season, booking everything as early as possible is essential.

The sea temperature peaks at around 26 to 27 degrees in August, making it perfect for swimming, jet skiing, and water sports.

Top Tip: Mid-week flights (Tuesday or Wednesday) are often significantly cheaper than weekend departures during July and August.

September: Late Season Bargains

September is another excellent time to visit. The weather remains warm (25 to 29 degrees), the sea is at its warmest after a full summer of heating up, and the crowds thin out noticeably after the first week. Prices drop for flights and accommodation, and you will find it much easier to get sunbeds on the beach.

Most events and clubs continue to run through September, though some may reduce their schedules towards the end of the month. The atmosphere is more relaxed than peak season, which many visitors actually prefer.

October: End of Season

October is the tail end of the Magaluf season. The weather is still pleasant (20 to 24 degrees) and warm enough for the beach on most days, but evenings start to cool down. Many clubs and events close for the winter during October, so the nightlife options are more limited.

That said, October can be a great time for a more relaxed holiday. Prices are at their lowest, the resort is quiet, and you can enjoy the beach and restaurants without the summer crowds. It is also a good time for day trips to Palma and the mountains.
